Almwanderungen in den Kitzbüheler Alpen
Hiking boots on, backpack packed – and off you go. Around Fieberbrunn, countless trails lead through forests, across alpine meadows and up to traditional mountain huts. And the best part? Stunning views come with a proper Tyrolean snack along the way.
A popular destination is the Wildalpgatterl above Fieberbrunn. For an easier start, take the cable car to the middle station and walk the final stretch from there. Tyrolean mountain hut charm meets regional cuisine, with plenty of space for families to explore – perfect for a relaxing break in the mountains.
Just a little further down, right next to the middle station, you’ll find the Streuböden Alm. A sunny terrace, Tyrolean dishes and views of the surrounding Kitzbühel Alps await hungry hikers.
Want to go higher? Continue via the Wildalm towards Lake Wildseeloder. The moment the alpine lake appears between the peaks, you’ll know every step was worth it. Along the way and around Fieberbrunn’s local mountain, more huts and snack stops invite you to take a well-earned break.
Discover another side of Fieberbrunn on a hike to the Tennalm. The trail leads from the valley through the Schönau district, offering views of Fieberbrunn, the Spielberg, Wildseeloder and Wilder Kaiser. Still have energy? Continue towards Buchensteinwand and the impressive Jakobskreuz.
The Burgeralm is another great destination for an alpine hike around Fieberbrunn and a welcome stop after an active day.
Our tip: Leave enough time for a hut stop. A Tyrolean snack, a cold drink and panoramic mountain views are simply part of hiking in the Kitzbühel Alps.
