Climbing Routes in the Region: Fieberbrunn for Adventure Seekers
If you want to experience an active summer in Fieberbrunn, the Kitzbühel Alps offer spectacular via ferratas with breathtaking alpine views. Whether you are a beginner, a family with children or an experienced climber, the Pillerseetal region features a wide variety of climbing routes surrounded by rugged rock faces, mountain lakes and panoramic peaks.
One of the most popular routes is the “Himmel & Henne” panoramic via ferrata in Fieberbrunn. With four different difficulty levels ranging from easy to challenging (A–D), it is perfect for every skill level. The ascent begins at the Lärchfilzkogel mountain station and rewards climbers with stunning views of Lake Wildseeloder and the surrounding mountains. Families especially enjoy the easier panoramic route (A/B), while ambitious climbers can experience pure adrenaline on the more difficult sections featuring ladders and rope bridges. Proper via ferrata equipment is essential.
For beginners and families, the Adolari Via Ferrata in St. Ulrich am Pillersee is another great choice. This short climbing route near the famous Adolari pilgrimage church combines easy climbing passages with beautiful valley views and is ideal for first via ferrata experiences.
Another highlight in the region is the Marokka Via Ferrata in Fieberbrunn. This moderately difficult route (B/C) leads across steep rock sections and exposed ridges up to the 2,074-metre summit of Marokka, offering incredible panoramic views over the Kitzbühel Alps. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are particularly important here.
The Pillerseetal valley is considered one of Tirol’s most diverse climbing destinations and offers not only via ferratas, but also numerous sport climbing routes and alpine tours for every level.
